"Halo 3"

Halo 3 is projected to be the biggest first-day seller, the biggest video game rollout ever, and 10,000 retail stores (over 20 in San Diego) will host “Midnight Madness Halo 3” events Monday night. Microsoft is said to have spent $10 million for marketing Halo 3 alone.

When Halo 2 released 3 years ago it broke all entertainment sales records when it brought in over $125 million in its first 24 hours. Halo 3 could top $200 million in its first day! Over 1 million copies of Halo 3 are pre-ordered already in this final installment of Microsoft's hugely successful video game trilogy.

Blockbuster Marketing:
In preparation for what is likely to be the biggest video game rollout ever — the Sept. 25 release of Halo 3 — Master Chief, the green-helmeted star of Microsoft's top title, is plastered on Burger King products, 7-Eleven Slurpee cups and a new Mountain Dew drink, Game Fuel. If that's not enough, on Sunday NASCAR driver David Stremme's No. 40 Dodge Charger will sport a new Halo 3 paint job at the Dover 400. And Pontiac is giving away 144 Halo 3-themed sports cars.
